The iPhone also has iPod capability, but is a separate unit. As with many other portable USB devices and mp3 music players iPods also can be used to store external data. The storage capacities, prices and features vary greatly by model.iPods work with the Apple's iTunes software that is used to transfer music to the iPod, and buy new songs and mp3's to upload to the library of the iPod. For the video models, video can also be uploaded as is the case with the big iPod, the Touch, which holds music, photos, video and is also compatible with iPod apps.
